BCL Score methodology
BCL Score = volume × 0.40 + rating × 0.35 + recency × 0.25.
Volume = min(log(total + 1) / log(2001), 1) × 100. Rating = max((rating − 3) / 2, 0) × 100. Recency = (recent / total × 0.6 + min(recent / 100, 1) × 0.4) × 100.
A published Canadian firm needs at least 20 qualifying reviews. Confidence is Emerging for 20–49, Moderate for 50–99 and High from 100 reviews.
English and French reviews count equally. Google may expose only a sample of dated reviews; recency uses observed reviews without extrapolation. Public reviews do not establish reviewer identity, legal competence or case outcomes.
